Exemption to Procurement Policy

For some procurements there may be a need to deviate from your procurement policy. It is important that this is documented and approved internally at your organisation. Exemptions can normally be used when:

  1. any procurement will be conducted outside of Procurement Policy (e.g. you are not complying with a prescribed approach to market method), or
  2. there is a material change to the procurement value, requirement or scope of a procurement
  3. upon contract expiry (where all possible extensions are exhausted) where there are good reasons to stick with the current supplier going forward i.e. avoidance of re-approaching the market
